If your monthly wage is more than $A450, your employer must contribute an additional sum equal to 9.5% of your wage into a superannuation (pension) account for you. If you entered Australia on an eligible temporary resident visa you can, in most cases, access your contributions when you leave Australia, although the contributions will be taxed.

Today, though pearling (cultured) continues to be a major industry it is tourism that has set off an explosion of economic activity and population growth.
Broome's official tourist season: is May through to the end of October but with a year round average tropical daily temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, even the tropical summer - October through to April (hot high humidity spectacular thunderstorms) can also provide a unique tropical experience. The towns diversity of tourism services have grown to meet an all year round demand.
Working Holiday Makers: are starting to find jobs in and around Broome all the year round - particularly in hospitality services.
However, employers usually require a minimum stay of between 2 and 6
months and finding suitable accommodation can be an issue.
Some employers can arrange accommodation.
If you are planning to work in Broome and you are in Perth or Darwin it
is a very good idea to go around to the backpacker employment agencies
because many of the bigger employers in Broome have permanent listings
with agencies due to the high turnover of staff.
It will definitely save you a lot of time and hassle if you can
organise a job before you arrive in Broome however don't be put off as
many smaller employers rely on adverts in the local hostels or working
holiday backpackers knocking on their doors.
Staying at one of the several backpacker hostels when you first arrive
in Broome is a good idea, but, once you've found your job, a hostel may
not be financially or socially (work mode) viable.
One of the cheapest options may be a tent
(or if you have a 'travelling van') at the Roebuck Bay Caravan Park.
They have a backpacker facility which might be called the 'animal
park', which, as the name suggests, is basic, but, during peak season
may be your only option.
The town of Broome (also called Chinatown) is located on a peninsular, with town on one side and the famous Cable Beach located on the other side.
When you are in Broome you will refer to where places are as either
being on the town side, or the beach side (though there is also a 'town
beach').
There are backpacker hostels, tourist hotels, resorts, restaurants,
cafes, bars etc on both the town side and beach side of the peninsular.
For those of you who are in Broome without your own vehicle there is a
bus service which links both sides of the peninsular. It travels
between town and the beach through Broomes mini suburbia so if you are
staying in accommodation on the town side but work on the beach side,
